RubyConf in New Orleans
So I just got back from spending 4 days in New Orleans for RubyConf, a software development conference.
Three of my coworkers were also there, two of which were actually speaking at the event. We attended sessions on various aspects of Ruby development, but we also took every chance we had to get out and explore the area.
I spent several years as a child in New Orleans, but having moved away over twenty years ago, it was really nice to go back. The city has so much charm that I wasn't able to appreciate at such a young age.
I did most of my exploring with my buddy Pradeep, a fellow Intridean. We just wandered the streets (bourbon, royal, julia, magazine), stopping for anything interesting like food, art galleries, or drinks! We did beignets and coffee at Cafe Du Monde, a three course lunch at Brennan's, Sazerac at the Roosevelt, and liver mousse and porkbelly at Feast.
There's a ton to see and do in New Orleans and I can't wait to go back. Hopefully next time it'll be with Amy instead of my coworkers.
