Dilly & Daddy

We got together with Kim and Chris, and went out to nearby Jordan lake for the afternoon. It wasn't too crowded and the water was great. It's not the same as going to the beach, but it's so close and convenient, which makes it a really nice alternative.
We drove up to NoVa to help Amy's mom instal some new wood floors in her basement. I'd never installed wood flooring before, so this was new for me. Fortunately it was quite a bit easier than I thought it would be. The flooring was engineered tiger wood, and I think it turned out looking really nice. Now I'm looking forward to redoing some wood floors at home...
Having nothing to do on a Sunday afternoon, and itching to go for a drive, we hopped in the Pilot and headed over to Jordan Lake.
It's only 10 or 15 minutes from the house, but we'd never been over there before. In fact, I didn't even know about it until a friend of mine (who lives in Maine) asked me about it. The recreation area was pretty nice. There was a boat slip, a playground, lots of picnic tables and grassy areas, and a beach that's probably almost 100 yards long. Cameron was out playing with a friend, so it was just Amy, Dillan, and I. We walked around checking everything out, and we swung on the swings, which Dillan really liked. I can't wait to go back with both of the boys once the weather warms up.
It's not too often that we get out, so I felt as though I should document it. We're at the Red Bowl Asian Bistro, about to have some sushi.
We ended up having our Thanksgiving dinner on Friday instead of Thursday. Since my parents live all the way out in Las Vegas, and Chris and Kim were spending the holiday with her family, we figured we would just wait and have our big dinner when Ann and Terry came down with Cameron.
Amy and I kind of threw the meal together at the last minute, but fortunately it turned out great, especially the desserts. At one point, I was so full that I thought I was going throw up. It was awesome.Doug & Amy (my uncle/aunt) went out to visit my parents in Las Vegas. Here's a few pictures...
